Self esteem is an interpetation of one's self worth.  Feeling good about yourself, who you are and what you do, is important to your overall well-being.  

It's easy for us to get down on ourselves.  

  • "Gosh that was so stuipid of me!"  
  • "I feel like such a bad parent"  
  • "I'll never amount to anything so I might as well not even try to better myself"

I believe these are self-fulfilling prophecies.  One of my favorite quotes is from Henry Ford: 

"Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right"  

So...do you want to go around putting yourself down, or do you want to say..."Hey...I'm human.  I might make mistakes every now and then, but overall I'm a good person".  If you want more happiness and less stress in your life, I suggest you become more positive and self appreciating. 

Below are some positive affirmations that you can use as a guide for writing your own.  I recommend you write some of your own that apply to your life & situation.

  • I am loved and respected by others
  • Today is the best day there has ever been
  • I deserve to be happy
  • I have choices and I choose to have a positive attitude about myself and others
