Remember to always have your symptoms diagnosed by a medical doctor. You should always consult your doctor before trying any alternative treatments for pain reduction.
I read yet another article today, regarding the positive results which can be obtained by using hypnosis to reduce pain intensity. This study was conducted at universities in Belgium & Denmark and demonstrated that hypnosis can offer a significant reduction in pain.
Pain sufferers should really be excited by this article! So many people suffer every day from chronic and debilitating pain. It’s probably safe to say that those suffering are likely taking moderate to high doses of pain killers. I’m sure that the medicines are helpful and welcome to those people that are having to deal with the pain, but if there was a way to reduce the pain without drugs, I’m sure it would be a welcome therapy.
It’s no secret that self hypnosis has long been used to reduce or eliminate pain. If you found a self hypnosis audio program that could improve your current pain situation, even if only a little, I’m sure you would find that to be a blessing, right! What if you could learn to reduce your pain at will…how great would that be? Well I would certainly like to recommend you take a look at this audio program. If you can sit or lie down in the comfort of your own home, put on a pair of earphones and listen to this program and be able to control your pain….wouldn’t that be fabulous?!?!
The only hypnosis audio program that I would try is this one from Hypnosis Network. Hypnosis network is in my opinion, the leader in the hypnosis audio industry. All of their audio programs have been developed and recorded by actual doctors. This isn’t your “average joe” off the street, making a recording in his basement. Hypnosis Network seeks out the most qualified doctors & therapists to create programs that are of the utmost quality. They never cut corners to save a few dollars. Thats one reason why you may find that these programs aren’t the cheapest, but I think you will find that they are the most comprehensive, professional hypnosis audios you will find on the market today. How do I know that? Hypnosis Network offers a 100%, money back guarantee for one full year from the date of purchase! You should begin seeing results very soon, but they’re giving you a full year to try it because they are so convinced that their self hypnosis programs are the absolute best!
If you or someone you know is suffering from pain, I encourage you to try hypnosis. This is such a great tool and I hate to see it get overlooked as a possible solution to a terrible problem.
As always, I hope you have a great day and please let me know if I can ever help.

sounds about right to me…so much of pain is influenced by the conscious mind, that influencing the conscious mind through hypnosis would logically affect pain perception too
I’ll add my ‘amen’ to this. I find that if I have a headache all I have to do is lay down in a dark room, take some deep breaths for relaxation, and clear my head, and soon no more headache. I can only imagine what would happen if I achieved a full hypnotic state!
Hi Layouts -
You’re exactly right! I believe most everyone has the ability to reduce their pain intensity. The real show-stopper is the person that doesn’t “believe” they can do this. Thank you so much for your comment, and sorry for the delay in responding!
Chris
Hello Emily,
Thanks for sharing your experience! When you close your eyes, take in some extra oxygen with those deep breaths, and then relax, you’ve probably lowered your stress level immensely which may be all you need to eliminate the headache!
Thanks very much for visiting and for your comments!

This makes perfect sense to me - I believe whatever pain people actually feel is intesified by their belief in it. If hypnosis can alter that belief, of course it helps! Great points.
Hi Mark,
I always used to wonder why I could go out in the sun all day without a shirt on and be doing just fine, then someone would come up to me and say, “man…that sunburn is REALLY going to hurt!” Then almost immediately, I would start noticing how bad I was burned!
I know without a doubt that our mind can have a great impact on the pain we feel.
Thanks for dropping by Mark!

This makes so much sense to me. I believe that our minds have a way of deceiving us if we allow it to. I also think we can use our mind to overcome a lot of adversity in our lives.
hi,
i hope it can bring so relief to people in chronic pain. but although we know how much addictive are anti-pain medication, many of this treatment can have addiction symptoms. it is called mental-addiction instead of physical-addiction
Great article. I saw an excellent documentary about a lady who had her appendix removed with no sedative. She simply hypnotized herself, lied back and they cut her open! Was intense stuff to watch.
Oh, i have to tell my dentist about that. Would be nice for my treatment
Hi Cade - Agreed. I’m a firm believer in mind over matter. Thanks for visiting!
Hi Educational toys - I’m not sure I fully understand what you mean by hypnosis creating a “mental-addiction”? I’d love to hear more of your thoughts on this. Thanks for dropping by and commenting!
Hi Contract Publishing - I’ve not seen that particular show, but I’ve seen several where they perform medical procedures on people while they’re hypnotized. Definitely interesting to watch! Thanks for your comments!
Hi Reiseversicherung - There is actually a program called Relieving Dental Anxiety that might be useful to you? Thanks for your comments!
Very interesting article…something I had no idea about. Goes to show what the mind is actually capable of.
I am naturally very cautious about things like this. I think it could work, but I’m not one to jump right in.
Aromatherapy - Thanks for dropping by!
Carson - I understand there could be some apprehension and I would say thats pretty normal.
That is very interesting. That reduced pain may also lead to longer workouts for powerlifters and bodybuilders. I know caffeine for example has that effect and it allows people to workout longer. What are your opinions and research on the angle of hypnosis for athletic/powerlifting/bodybuilding perspective? Thanks.
Hi Bodybuilding Network - From what I’ve seen, heard and read…athletics in general could benefit a lot from using hypnosis. It’s no secret that many of the top athletes use hypnosis to train mentally and help to gain focus for their workouts/events. Sometime you should take a look at the audio program, “Core Sports Performance”. There is a link in my sidebar under “Audio Program Links”. It’s a great program that comes with some very high recommendations. Best of luck!
excellent, just goes to show you the power of the mind, hypnosis has far more potential than most people give it credit for.
The Subconscious Mind - Couldn’t agree with you more! Thanks for dropping by. Very nice blog you have! Chris
I believe that sometimes the pain is just in the person’s mind. I know a lot of people who can stand migraines and menstrual cramps without taking any medication. They simply don’t think about it!
Having just found your blog on MSN, I’ll be back many times.
seems very hard for me to understand why hypnosis could reduce pain but if they say so….maybe is true
Why not? You can achieve many thing by hypnosis. Why not reducing pain or discomfort?
Thanks for sharing your information.
Dr. Sarno has done a lot of research on back pain and emotions. He no longer performs surgery and has 98% “cure” rate on chronic back pain using psychotherapy. Sooner or later people will have to learn that the mind controls everything about your life.
I guess it seems amazing that something as easy as hypnosis would solve pain problems, but it makes sense. I mean, think of what they did in the old days? They didn’t have pain pill after pain pill to take, which is probably healthier. I agree that a big percentage of pain is cognitive.
