Sports Perfomance; Using Self Hypnosis To Get In “The Zone”

I love sports! I like watching pretty much any kind of sport, and have been known to participate in a few sports myself :). In my younger days, I was a basketball “bench warmer”. These days, I’d have to say my sport of choice is golf. One thing I’m certain of…with just about any sport I can think of…concentration and focus is probably the major factor that separates the winners from the losers.

I’m sure you’re aware of a phrase called, “the zone”, right? Simply put, when everything comes together and you’re competing in your favorite sport with such intensity and focus, that you can practically do no wrong…you’re experiencing “the zone”! Let me tell you, it’s one hell of a feeling! In days gone by, I could briefly experience this magical state on occasion, when participating in sports. But I could never figure out how or why I could do so well one day, and be so crappy for the next month or two?

Then I learned about hypnosis. With hypnosis, you can gain that unfair advantage that your competitors only wish they had! You know you have the physical abilities to perform well, but do you have that mental edge that gives you a little more than the competition? Your competitor may have drive & determination, but with hypnosis, you can have that extra advantage that allows you to squeeze out the extra rep, “kick it in” during that last section of the race, or have that remarkable and unwaivering focus when you’re putting for that birdie from 15ft out.

I’d like to invite you to take a look at this audio program called, “Core Sports Performance“, because it’s for real! I don’t care if you’re looking for something to help your child swing a bat a little better or if you’re looking for something to help you pick up that elusive spare on the bowling lanes, this program is definitely worth checking into! Also, take a look on this page and about a 1/4 of the way down you’ll see a section where you can get a FREE sample audio hypnosis session called, “Relaxation For Sports Performance” by Dr. Jack Singer. Dr. Singer is a very renowned & well respected sports psychologist who has help many, many athletes improve their performance.

Don’t take my word for it. Read up on hypnosis for sports performance and see what others have to say. I’m sure you’ll agree that without hypnosis, you’re not playing at the absolute top of your game!

I believe determination it will be the key. Never give up when you are tired only give up when you are done.

Yes I agree with you. As a personnal trainer and ex pro skateboarder I can tell you how much mental condition is important to overcome personnal limits and be a better athlete. Especially in sports like skateboard or extrem sports because of the fear of injuries for example.

I’ve experience being in the zone during a couple bball games. I guess I just wonder if it just happens or if you can get yourself into it.

I think that being in the zone is similiar to being in a state of intense concentration except that you aren’t still. What I mean is that when people sit down and concentrate, people associate it with being very still and quiet. While sports concentration is very dynamic and physical. Players are often thinking 2-3 steps ahead while running down the court. However, just cause they aren’t sitting down doesn’t mean that their brains are working while running down the court.

When people are climbing kilimanjaro, they people tend to get the same way. They are just slowly hiking up the mountain. Although it may look like they are simply walking, they may be in the zone at some points.

Motivation and determination are the keys to success. In order to motivate yourself it is also important to set goals to reach for.

I’ve seen techniques like self hypnosis, EFT, and other mental techniques do wonders. I’ve found that it works great in combination with acupuncture. I help to rebalance the systems and with a little mental “focus” things take off!

I’ve been able to get into “The Zone” even when not doing a physical activity. Playing the piano or painting. But it seems to be easier while exercising. Probably something to do with endorphins or adrenalin.
